Saint-Jacques is a municipality in Quebec (Canada), located in the regional county municipality (MRC) of Montcalm in the administrative region of Lanaudière. It is generally considered one of the four municipalities of New Acadia.
Saint-Jacques-de-l'Achigan was founded in 1774 by Acadian settlers who came from Boston after the deportation of the Acadians.
The first Acadians arrived in 1770 and founded a parish that they named Saint-Jacques-de-la-Nouvelle-Acadie.
The filming of the film The Passion of Augustine by Léa Pool took place at the convent of the Sainte-Anne sisters during the summer of 2014.
